¡Hola! Me llamo Gabriela

“There’s no pressure to rush and no need to worry about getting everything right from the beginning. We’ll take it one step at a time, celebrate your progress and, most importantly, enjoy the journey.”

I’m originally from Lima, Peru but I now live in the lovely countryside on the border between Shropshire and Powys, where I have been teaching Spanish for over ten years.

I’ve always had a great love for languages, communication and, most importantly, people. I believe learning a language should be something to look forward to, a chance to discover a new culture, meet new people, keep your mind active and perhaps even enjoy a few holidays with a little more confidence!

My journey into teaching Spanish wasn’t quite a straight one. I originally studied a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences at the Universidad de San Martín de Porres in Lima. It was after moving to the UK that I discovered a new passion and decided to change direction and pursue a career in Spanish teaching.

My interest in languages and education continued to grow, and in 2020 I completed a Master’s degree in Language, Cultures and Translation at the University of Chester. I then decided to take my training a step further, completing a specialist course in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language with ELE Internacional and the Miguel de Cervantes European University.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced speakers. I particularly enjoy helping adults discover that learning Spanish doesn’t have to be difficult, intimidating or feel like hard work!

Whether you’re dreaming of spending more time in Spain, travelling through Latin America, chatting to locals on holiday, enjoying Spanish films and books, or simply challenging yourself to learn something new, my lessons are designed around you.

I offer friendly, relaxed and personalised Spanish lessons that fit around your interests, your pace and your life. There’s no pressure to rush and no need to worry about getting everything right from the beginning. We’ll take it one step at a time, celebrate your progress and, most importantly, enjoy the journey.

After all, you’re never too old to learn something new and there’s nothing quite like the feeling of ordering your first coffee in Spanish and understanding the reply!

I’d love to help you discover the joy of speaking Spanish and make your language-learning journey one that you genuinely look forward to each week.

¡Nos vemos pronto!
